THE MANICORPO CONCEPT

The MANICORPO creation center was born in 2019 with the aim of making contemporary dance much more interactive and attractive for everyone. 

 

Our repertoire involves mixed techniques of contemporary dance, capoeira, acrobatics, modern dance, jazz, ballet, dance theater and other body expressions within a non-verbal communication process.

Mission:

 

  • Transform people's lives through dance, with hope and courage.

  • Connecting people from different cultures and nationalities through dance.

  • Contribute to a more human and peaceful society through art.

Leticia Picheth
Director, Dancer and Choreographer

Dancer, Choreographer and producer, graduated in social communication, capoeira and jazz, specialized in design with a MBA in Marketing. She permeated between the corporate and artistic circles in her 20 years of professional experience. She lived 7 years in Europe, working with artistic presentations and workshops about Brazilian culture in Italy, Spain and Belgium. In Brazil, she worked with sport events with the major football clubs of Brazil, the House of Russia in the 2014 World Cup and the Rio Olympics Games. Since 2017, she has worked with independent artistic productions, with artist collectives and also solo work, with presentations in Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and São Paulo. She founded the MANICORPO Creation Core, creating video dance productions with dancer Mauro Rodriguez. She is also present in the art educational field as a jazz and contemporary dance teacher and producing choreography for schools. Furthermore, she was recently cast in the Hora do Horror season at HOPI HARI, performing on stage at the opening and closing of the show and on the street with the public.

Amanda Katlen
Assistant Dancer

Professional Dancer (DRT). Experiencing dance since she was 6 years old through the Taiga group at BSGI, an improvement and training group of dance. She studied several dance courses at the Municipal Theater of São Paulo, like ballet, contemporary and physical conditioning. In addition to that, she has a certification of São Paulo Fest Dance 2022, and a certification in the Semi-Professional Contemporary Course with Mauro Rodriguez and Leticia Picheth and has presented several performances with the BSGI Taiga Group.

 

Performances: "Deu doideira" and "Corpo vivo" from the choreographer Mauro Rodrigues; "Change" choreographer Milton Kennedy; "Star Wars", "Immortals" and "Storm" choreographer Letícia Picheth; "Nuvem de Cristal" choreographer Paulo Cavalcanti;

 

And currently he also works in the administrative area.

Mauro Rodriguez
Founder (in memory)

Dancer and choreographer, fully qualified in dance and certified by the International Dance Council. More than 40 years of experience. He studied classical ballet, Jazz, Theater, Body Expression, Modern and Contemporary Dance with renowned professionals in Brazil and abroad such as: Roseli Rodrigues, Ruben Terranova, Andréa Pivato, Mário Nascimento, Ivonice Satie, Regina Sauer, Helda Seró, Cristina Barnils. Founder, dancer and choreographer of the group Às Corpos de S. J. do Rio Pardo. Ballet Director Mauro Rodriguez (1995 to 2000).

 

He was also a dancer of the Companies: Raça Cia de Dança and Grupo Rama. Furthermore, he worked as an actor and dancer in several operas at the Municipal Theater of São Paulo and in the musical "Vitor e Vitória" with the Actress Marília Pêra.

 

In the art educational field, he created adaptations of musicals as a choreographer and director: Annie, Mary Poppins, Chicago, Cats, The Sound of Music and Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Phantom of the Opera. He taught workshops at Dublin. He was a choreographer at Dance Company Kridans (SP) (2009 to 2015) and teacher of jazz and contemporary dance until his last days.

Mauro passed away in 2022, from a brain tumor. Still during the fighting for his life, he created his last choreography CORPO VIVO, for his last contemporary dance class.
